Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Ingredients
- 340g spaghetti
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- lemon zest
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the pan.
- Cook, stirring frequently, until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the pan with the garlic oil.
- Toss to coat the spaghetti in the oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little of the reserved pasta water.
- Season with salt to taste.
- Add the chopped parsley and toss to combine.
- Serve garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and lemon zest.
