Quick Chilli Beef
The ridiculously simple Quick Chilli Beef is perfect for a midweek meal and packed full of flavour.

Ingredients
- 500g beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tsp sweet chilli sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped, for garnish
- sesame seeds, for garnish
- 1 cup Basmati rice
Instructions
- Start by cooking the rice according to the package instructions. Add 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of cold water and bring to a boil and simmer with the lid on for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sweet chilli sauce, minced garlic, and minced ginger.
- Add the sliced beef to the marinade and toss until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed and add sliced red and green bell peppers, and onion. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the pan with the vegetables and stir everything together until well combined and heated through.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve with the rice.
