Pan-Seared Salmon with Lemon Butter Sauce

Salmon is one of my favourite fish dishes, so this Pan-Seared Salmon with Lemon Butter Sauce is perfect for any night of the week.

UNDER 10 MINS

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  2. Season both sides of the salmon fillets with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Place the salmon fillets in the pan, skin-side down if they have skin.
  5. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and has a nice golden crust. Remove the salmon from the pan and set aside.
  6. In the same pan, reduce the heat to medium.
  7. Add the butter and let it melt.
  8. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  9. Stir in the lemon juice and let the sauce simmer for another 1-2 minutes.
  10. Return the salmon fillets to the pan and spoon the lemon butter sauce over them.
  11. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat the salmon through.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices.
  13. Transfer the salmon fillets to serving plates.
  14. Drizzle any remaining lemon butter sauce over the top.
