Ingredients
- 2 cooked smoked mackerel fillets, skin removed
- 85g cream cheese, softened
- 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 1 small clove garlic, minced
- 1 head of butter lettuce or romaine lettuce, leaves separated
- 1 small cucumber, julienned
- 1 small carrot, julienned
Instructions
- Start by removing the skin from the cooked mackerel fillets. Use your fingers or a small knife to gently peel it off, ensuring there are no bones.
- In a medium bowl, break up the mackerel into small chunks using a fork.
- Add the softened cream cheese, lemon juice, fresh dill and minced garlic.
- Mix everything together until smooth and well combined. You can leave some small chunks of mackerel for texture or make it smoother depending on your preference.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Lay the separated lettuce leaves on a plate.
- Spoon a generous amount of the mackerel pâté into each lettuce leaf.
- Top with julienned cucumber and carrot strips.
- Drizzle a little extra lemon juice on top.
- Serve the wraps with lemon wedges on the side for garnish.
