Ingredients
- 2 cups macaroni (or any pasta of your choice)
- 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk (whole milk or 2%)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp mustard powder
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the macaroni and cook according to the package instructions (usually about 7-8 minutes).
- In another same pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Once melted, whisk in the flour to form a smooth roux. Cook for about 1 minute to get rid of the raw flour taste.
- Gradually pour in the milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue whisking for 3-5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Stir in the grated cheddar cheese until it’s fully melted and smooth.
- Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and mustard powder.
- Add the cooked and drained pasta to the cheese sauce.
- Stir until the pasta is fully coated with the cheesy sauce.
- Serve immediately while warm and gooey. You can add extra toppings like breadcrumbs, crispy bacon bits, or more cheese.
- Arrange the sautéed mushrooms, soft-boiled eggs, spinach, corn, and nori around the noodles.
- Drizzle a little truffle oil over the top.
- Garnish with spring onions, sesame seeds, and additional nori.
